Working with Survivors of sex trafficking in Romania

  • Human trafficking is the world's 2nd most profitable crime, right after drug trafficking

  • Worldwide, 4.8 million people are victims of sex trafficking

  • 99% of sexual exploitation victims are women and girls

  • Risk factors include poverty, childhood abuse, broken families, and lack of education

“We have a story, a bad story, a dirty story, a shame story. We want to change our lives and to let people see who we are. We are strong. Yes, we have a BIG past, a very painful past, but step by step, we feel alive, and we are survivors who have fought for our lives. We took down the people who hurt us.”
